LOVED--

Loved—
The full moon looks so beautiful yet so lonely in the starless sky. Without the moon you cannot see anything around you, it feels like closing your eyes. A girl in a big and cozy bed suddenly rose when she realized that her eyes were slowly closing while looking outside the window, don’t sleep, she said to herself. For a moment she just sat there and unaware of her surrounding, the girl looked tired and sleepy.
Then the first light of the day started to break in the sky. She sighed and laughed to herself when she realized how scared she was for this day. She didn’t want to sleep because she didn’t want this day to come, but now while she’s watching the sunrise she just laughed at her self’s foolishness.
A little movement in the bed brought the girl back to the room and away from her thoughts. She looked at the man beside her who was calmly sleeping; she smiled when she noticed how comical the 30-year-old man looked while wrapped in a blanket, he was like a sleeping 6-foot-baby. She sighed and closed her eyes, stop, she told herself once she realized that tears were about to pour out from her eyes. Without opening her eyes she slowly lied down, and even before her head touched the pillow she had already fallen asleep.

Aroma of a creamy coffee woke the girl. When she slowly opened her eyes she was blinded by the light from the sun that was reflected by the window in the room. She rubbed her sleepy eyes and tried to open them again but she failed and she just covered her eyes with her hand, she hates the ray of the sun.
“Good morning”, the man cheerfully greeted her. The girl yawned, then she deeply inhaled the sweet aroma of the coffee, she loves coffee. With the smell of the coffee the girl realized that the man was sitting at her right side. The man was grinning and was holding a tray. The man placed the tray near the girl, “Breakfast in bed is served!”
The girl was still lying in the bed but she was able to open her eyes by then. The girl looked outside the window and noticed the sun was already high in the sky, “breakfast? I think this is already a…brunch.” The man laughed and the girl noticed that the man had already taken a bath and looked very fresh and foolishly contented, “well…yah, technically…you can say that.” Then the man leaned closer to the girl, “wait! What are you doing?” asked the girl with a very interfering tone. “Well…I was leaning and I was about to kiss you…and—” “no! I haven’t even brushed my teeth yet.” The man smiled with his sparkling white teeth, “who cares…” and he was leaning even closer to the girl but before his lips touched the girl’s lips she stopped him again, “wait!”
“What now?” The girl pointed the tray, “the breakfa—I mean the brunch?” “It can wait…” and the man moved the tray away. Before the girl can interfere again he swiftly kissed her deeply on her lips. The girl didn’t want the man to kiss her but when the man started kissing her she just forgot the real reason why she didn’t want to kiss him. “I love you” the man repeatedly whispered between their kiss.
Ring…ring…ring…
The ringing of a phone broke their intimate moment, but it was just a moment of interruption for the man, for he continued kissing the girl. The cell phone continued ringing. Ring…ring…ring… The girl pushed the man, “answer it.”
“Don’t mind it, it’s not important”, the man leaned again but the girl pushed him even harder. “Answer it” the girl coldly said. “But—” “It bothers me!” ring…ring…ring… The man sighed and got up. He took the cell phone from the bed’s side table. He was almost at the door when he answered the call, “Hello…Rebecca—” he was already out of the room.
The girl in the bed covered herself with the blanket that was full of scent of the man, she likes his scent. Then she saw the tray that was supposed to be her brunch, the coffee was already as warm as a tap water, too bad.
She looked outside the window and realized it was pass midday. “This day surely passes so rapidly”, she whispered to herself.

“I’m sorry but I really can’t leave Mr. Valdez alone for today…yes…I know…I won’t be late tomorrow. Ok. Bye.” The man gently closed the door behind him, he then tossed his phone in a small and blue couch near the bed which he spotted empty. He looked around, where is she? Then he went out to the balcony, she’s not here …she’s probably taking a bath, once he realized this he went back inside.
The girl just came out of the bathroom. The man smiled at her but as soon as he noticed the girl was already well dressed he frowned. “You’re going somewhere”, it was supposed to be a statement but it came out like a question. “I forgot something in the office…” the girl said while walking across the room to fetch her bag.
“Office? Today? But—”
“Yes, but I just remembered something that I have to do for work”, said the girl who was already putting on her shoes.
“Can’t you just do it tomor—I mean…can you just do it in another day?”
There was a long and awkward pause and then the girl sighed, “I just thought that it’s better if I leave now”, then the girl faced the man. When their eyes met no one said a word.
Tick-tock-tick-tock, it was very quiet that the ticking of a wall clock was the only sound in the room. The girl was the first one who looked away.
“Wait…” the man said when the girl started walking to the door. The girl stopped but she didn’t look behind.
“Stay,” the man said with a quivered voice.
The girl stiffed but she still didn’t look behind.
“Please…stay”, this time the man sounded like he was crying.
The girl instantly faced the man. He wasn’t crying but she saw the pain in his eyes, don’t cry. The girl cleared her throat, “I—I think I should really go now.” She smiled or at least she tried.
The man opened his mouth to say something but he stopped himself, instead he quickly walked to the girl and firmly hugged her. He was trembling, please don’t cry.
“You know I love you.”
The girl didn’t move or say anything at all.
“You know how much I love you…and I’m willing to sto—”
“NO!” the girl exclaimed and pushed the man—or tried too, because the man did not break their hug no matter how hard she pushed. “Please don’t do something that will complicate everything! We’ve talked about this and I already told you what I want…so please…let me go…”
“I know…I know…” the man whispered so gently to the girl’s ear.
“Please let me go. Please don’t make this even harder for both of us.”
“I’m ready to give up everything for you…you know that!” the man pulled away from the girl and looked straight to her eyes.
The girl’s expression was blank; don’t look at me with those eyes.
“No…I don’t want you to give up everything for me.”
“But—”
“Don’t you get it? I—I don’t love you anymore!”
The man grinned, “You’re lying.”
The girl turned away and opened the door, and then the man got hold of her hand.
 “You’re lying…”
“You can think whatever you like…just please let go.” The girl impatiently said pulling her hand.
“I don’t love you anymore…” she said again. Then the man just let go.
The girl left and didn’t look back to the man who was already crying.
